Why I'm writing more in 2023
My amazing mentor, Debola Deji-Kurunmi (DDK), has many expressions equipping visionary leaders for the next-level impact & significance. It’ll take another LinkedIn post to cover all of them and how inspired I am by her, but for today, three of them include the Visionary Compass Accelerator Program, Ideation Hub Africa, and the Future Forward Female Intensive (FFF).
I’m in the FFF mastermind for the next few weeks, and here’s the idea: growth across the five protocols in the image is required for every visionary woman who will rise into extraordinary living, leadership, and legacy. A transformational coaching community is a powerful tool to help one accomplish this.
Self-Governance
Mastery of Genius
Visionary Excellence
Innovation Prowess
Legacy leadership
This framework comes with a free assessment that helps you evaluate where you are across its five protocols, and I was a little surprised that I scored the highest on Legacy Leadership. I thought this was meant for people with at least 10 to 20 more years of experience than me, so I expected to score the lowest. Perhaps my work at the Partnership and several other things I’ve immersed myself in boosted my score.
I also thought my highest would be Self-Governance (I worked really hard on this in the past year), but seeing I was lowest on Innovation Prowess didn’t surprise me much. It was already something I wanted to focus on in 2023 - both personally and professionally. In fact, I shared on my blog when reflecting on the past year that I wanted 2023 to be a year I did new things.
DDK defines the Innovation Prowess Protocol as a "system of core practices that accelerate your distinguishing ability to solve pressing problems, increase opportunities, and create wealth through new thinking, breakthrough ideas, upgraded solutions, or the use of technology, etc.” This protocol “accelerates true transformation for people, institutions, and society."
There are multiple core practices under this protocol, but one that resonated with me was “locally and internationally recognized thought leadership.” It resonated because it felt like the easiest thing to start working on right away. I already was.
My goal this year was already to publish more thoughts online - both "original and unoriginal" than I did last year, which was 60+ times, and to practice reading, thinking & teaching. And I shared in my newsletter yesterday that I wasn’t going to let the fear of “not good enough” interfere with this.
Putting myself "out there" makes me nervous; it's certainly not easy, but I'll try; it's a goal now. I'm always grateful for DDK, who continues to inspire me.
